2008 season gets underway

18 May - saw the first round of the county championships commence for the 2008 season

Kent will be hoping to defend their 2007 title.

the format for the competition is now 4 divisions of 4 = 16 teams that will compete at Taunton in July. Division 5 winning teams will then play-off during August

Rankings this year will be vital for the placing for the new structure for 2009 with the introduction of season round games in the full championship increasing divisions from 4 to 6 and for the formation of a T20 competition with 4 teams in each division
